Consumerism is definitely taking some serious whacks these days, with a swelling tide of books on the subject, but nothing as radical as the Freegans. The New York Times has a piece in today’s paper called “Not Buying It” about dumpster diving as an avocation, mostly in New York. The movement has a semi-official organ in freegan. info.
